Our Mission
Talk2Me Nation provides comprehensive care to communities impacted by violence and incarceration so they can heal, lead, and thrive.

About Us
Talk2Me Nation is a 501c3 veteran and community-led organization serving survivors, returning citizens, credible messengers, violence interrupters, & justice-involved youth. We envision communities impacted by violence and incarceration receiving the comprehensive care needed to heal and thrive. Grounded in trauma-informed practice and restorative justice principles, we partner with impacted individuals and families to provide resource navigation, leadership development, and spaces for transformative healing.
Our Story
Talk2Me Nation, Inc. was founded in 2021 by Michael Durphy, a U.S. veteran, with a vision of strengthening communication, compassion, and collaboration between communities and first responders.
Over time, that spirit of service deepened. Leadership transitioned to Fernando Smith, a nationally recognized public safety strategist and trauma-informed practitioner, and Sarah Martin, a poet, healing justice practitioner, and community organizer, now serving as Executive Director and Creative Executive Director, respectively. Michael continues to serve on the board alongside two additional veterans whose lived experience remains foundational to our identity.
That transition sparked a powerful evolution in purpose — from bridging gaps between first responders and communities to partnering directly with those most affected by violence and incarceration. Today, T2MN is led by and for survivors, credible messengers, returning citizens, and justice-involved youth.
